About Us

Jack, Tim, and Brian became friends as teammates on Waynesburg University's cross country team during the 2005 and 2006 seasons.  A few years after graduating, they decided that it would be a good idea to run across the state of Pennsylvania, all 330+ miles, to raise money and awareness for charities of their choice.

Jack

Has been running competitively for 12 years, and is an alum of Waynesburg Central High School and Waynesburg University.
In high school he was a back of the pack runner until his junior year when he realized he was faster than he knew.
He began to focus his energy on the mile in track and 5k cross country races.
His final accomplishments in HS left him with a visit to the state championships in cross country and a personal record of 4:36 in the mile. He continued his running career in college at Waynesburg University, then known as Waynesburg College, competing in cross country and track.
He prefers bike riding as cross training, doing training runs on country roads around his home in Greene County Pennsylvania, and running on rail trails and the track at WVU.

Tim
Tim has been running since his freshman year of high school.  In his tenure at Donegal High School and Waynesburg University, he competed in 4 years of track and 6 years of cross country.  His accomplishments include qualifying for the PA state championship race, earning 2nd Team All Conference honors twice in college, and serving as captain during his senior years in both high school and college.

Upon graduation, Tim went on to work for the Center for Student Missions in Philadelphia, PA for the summer.  From there, he went on to work for his current employer,  Hershey Advisors, P.C., a public accounting firm in Brownstown, PA.  Tim lives in the city of Lancaster, PA.

During his time with the Center for Student Missions, Tim was introduced to the charity Back on My Feet.  As a running ministry that deals specifically with the homeless in Philadelphia, Back on My Feet seemed an easy choice for his charity for the run.  Tim's goal is to raise enough money to sponsor one runner in the program for a year.

Brian
Brian started running in his freshman year of college, when he joined the track team at Waynesburg University.  The highlight of his brief running career came in the Spring of 2007, when he set the school record in the 400 meter dash and qualified for the Division III ECAC Regional Championship meet.

After three years at Waynesburg, Brian transferred to the University of Pittsburgh to study civil engineering.  He is currently working as an engineer at Paul C. Rizzo Associates, a civil engineering firm in the Monroeville area.

While at Pitt, Brian got involved with Engineers Without Borders, the charity that he selected for this run.  He has spent most of the past three years working on various aspects of EWB-PITT's project, developing a fish farm for a rural community in Mali, West Africa.
